Christopher Hitchens is as great a man as I have ever known, barring the Saints, Prophets and Jesus (and all those who silently lay down their lives for others.) He could tear your head off but then cajole the Police into not arresting you and invite you for a smoke behind the building. I LOVE THAT MAN!!!
I loved the GREATNESS of his courage, standing up for unborn children and denouncing abortion. He was the FIRST Academic, liberal, non-Christian to CALL ISLAM WHAT IT IS: the most successful scam in history, a jerry-rigged plagiarism sustaining the greatest surfeit of death known, next to science of course. Some might complain that I love an atheist, but God loved the Israelites and us, to this very minute, and are we lovable? Who can say to God, "You ought to love me?" Mothers and Fathers have a right to love their children without condition: since I have neither father, mother, nor child, can't I pick someone to love as such?
Sadly, Christopher was taken prisoner by the culture of Academia and Scientism. He capitulated to men skilled at spinning fantastic unobserved conjecture, speculation and disproven theory, as though they were truth.
Hard to blame the Hitch, when even angels succumb to Satan's lies:
Jude 1:6-8 And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home-- these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. 7 In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire. 8 In the very same way, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings.
Like Pharaoh, Plato and Saul - Christopher Hitchens was no ordinary man. Does not God's Great Play need Great characters - a Satan, Pharaoh, Hitchens and Hitler as worthy foils to Jesus? People are starting to whisper about the great matrix, the Great Tragedy, a screenplay penned and produced - by GOD.
